Our Senior Pastor Tony Cubello was recently honored to be interviewed by Pastor Resources Magazine and share his story about the death of his son Tony and the impact that it had on his ministry and the church. Click the following link and hear how God turned tragedy and sorrow into blessing by the power of the church.

There is joy in the Kingdom of God! The Bible tells us that you and I are “temples of the Holy Spirit,” and as such, we are also filled with joy! Acts 13:52 says, “And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” This means the Spirit’s joy lives in us.

As I shared last month, these days we are living in are perfect opportunities for us to show the rest of the world the God we love and serve. And one of the ways we do that is by sharing our joy in the Lord amidst the stress and worry that’s all around us. What a witness, Amen?

James 1:2 tells us to count it all joy when trouble comes. It may not BE all joy, but it says to CONSIDER it. And we do that by laughing in the face of the devil because Jesus lives in us and will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory. God is certainly able to do greater things than we can and He has promised to take care of us. And that’s enough for me. We cannot fail in Jesus, so we need to start living it. I guess you just believe that or not. No matter what’s happening in our world, God can take what the devil intends for evil and turn it into blessing and joy. That’s what God does. 1 Thessalonians 1:6 says, “You became imitators of us and of the LORD, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.”

My favorite “Joy in The Kingdom” scripture verse is Romans 14:17: “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit …” Because joy is part of the Kingdom, we should be experiencing it here and now, because the Scriptures say the Kingdom of God is here and now. We can have joy, because God is greater than any problem or circumstance that we can ever face. God doesn’t have bad days and He never gets fed up with life so give your trouble to God!

You can always pick out a Spirit-filled believer in a crowd … they are the ones filled with joy no matter what. They are less concerned about what is going on around them than what is going on in the Kingdom of our Father. When you are filled with the Spirit, you will experience joy even when bad news comes. Nehemiah 8:10 says, “Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Faith and joy go together. Go to God with your fears and anxiety and reinforce your faith with joy. Don’t ever lose your joy in the Lord, no matter what happens, because He is still on the throne, He still loves and care for you and He has won the victory for you already. Trusting in Him is what brings your joy! God cannot fail you. So, practice joy every day and rejoice that God is greater than the things of this world and the problems that you and I face. There is joy in the Kingdom!
